What can I borrow?
What can I borrow?
There is a limit of 30 items per card on loan at any time. However, if someone wishes to borrow all items on a subject, we may ask you, in fairness to other library users, to limit your selection.
How long can I have them for?
3 weeks for all items.
Can I renew?
2 renewal periods of 3 weeks each item unless on reserve.
No renewal for:
- Reserved items
- If due date has already passed
- If you accumulate unpaid fees of $10.00 or more.
Renewals can be arranged by asking at the desk, phoning the library or online via the Library catalogue. Please note to access your record via the web you will need your library card number and your P.I.N.
Can I reserve an item?
Reservations can be placed by asking at the desk, phoning the library or online via the Library catalogue. Please note to access your record via the web you will need your library card number and your P.I.N.
Are there any late fees?
Late fees apply to all items returned late. $1.00 per week per overdue item to a maximum of $5.00 for each item.
It is your responsibility to return your loans on time or renew them before the date due. If you accumulate unpaid fees of $10.00 or more your borrowing privileges will be suspended until the total accrued late fine amount is reduced to less than $10.00.
What happens if I have lost or damage an item?
Members are responsible for the damage or loss of borrowed items. They will be charged the replacement cost of the damaged or lost item. If you accumulate unpaid fees for a lost or damaged item your borrowing privileges will be suspended until the full replacement cost has been paid.
Why has the library sent me an overdue notice for an item that I have returned?
The most common reason for this is that the notice was placed in the mail or emailed before you returned the item. You should check My details on the library website or contact your local library to see if the item is still on your account. If you are sure you have returned the item and it is still appearing on your account please advise library staff and they will check the shelves for you.
Why do I have to pay an overdue fine when the library didn't send me an overdue notice?
The library sends out overdue notices as a courtesy only. It is still your responsibility to remember to return items by the due date. Failure to receive an overdue notice is not accepted as a reason to waive fines by the library. Please remember to let the library know if your postal or email address has changed.
